On Friday 16 January, NLR and DNW hosted a visit of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Economic Affairs Mr. Sandor Gaastra in Marknesse.
As an applied research organisation, NLR and DNW play a prominent role in the entire value chain that enables the Netherlands to hold a distinctive and strategically important position on the world stage. Government policies aimed at guiding, stimulating, and supporting the industrial sector help the Netherlands promote economic growth, employment, innovation, and our competitive strength.
Gaastra: “NLR and DNW as well as the other applied research organisations that together form the TO2 federation, are authoritative in the field of supporting facilities such as wind tunnels and in enabling applications involving unmanned systems. We will continue to seek collaboration in order to strengthen our competitive position.”
This is also in line with LRN’s Strategic Compass Aerospace, which aims to support a strong, innovative, and competitive Dutch aerospace sector focused on sustainability, strategic autonomy, and economic growth. The knowledge and technology base in our sector is the same for both civil and military applications (“dual use”).
