QHS POLICY STATEMENT

DNW provides technologically advanced experimental aerodynamics and aero-acoustic simulation techniques and high-quality measurement data for the benefit of its customers. According to our vision, we are the preferred supplier of high quality aerodynamic and aero-acoustic data. As highlighted in our mission statement, DNW offers a technically challenging, pleasant, creative and healthy work environment for all employees. DNW considers optimal, safe and healthy working conditions as pre-requisites to accomplish our vision.

DNW performs activities under contract of third parties (industry, research establishments, universities, governmental organizations) and in this context is dealing with sensitive information (either commercial in confidence or classified). DNW commits itself to comply with security regulations that detail control and mitigation of security risks according to the principles and guidelines of the information security standard ISO 27002.

DNW furthermore commits itself to comply in its operations with occupational health and safety laws and regulations from the Government and local authorities. Additionally, DNW commits itself to comply with the health and safety requirements of ISO45001:2018 and the quality requirements of ISO 9001:2015.  Objectives are:

  • Ensuring that the quality policy focuses on establishing, maintaining and improving effective, efficient business processes in order to achieve results required by customers, parent institutes (NLR and DLR) and other stakeholders
  • Ensuring that the health and safety policy focuses on maximizing the level of safety and health protection to ensure employees’, customers’ and subcontractors’ health and safety.

Risk management is equally targeted at technology, organization and human behavior. Risks and hazards, including QH&S related, are analyzed and dealt with in a systematic and preventive manner. DNW shall preferably take source-oriented measures instead of effect-oriented measures.

DNW values the contribution of every employee and fosters a positive and cooperative workplace in which everyone can learn and grow. DNW maintains a safe working environment for its employees complying with all statutory, regulatory, corporate and customer requirements.

Although the Management has ultimate responsibility for QHS, all employees, supported by the Quality and Health &Safety Manager, have a responsibility within their own areas of work to help ensure that QHS is embedded within the whole of the company. Employee participation and consultation is arranged via works councils.

The management system is reviewed regularly and its procedures are held in a Quality Manual, which is made available to all employees. This policy is posted on the company Information Center and on DNW’s website (www.dnw.aero).

DNW is committed to continual improvement for which the management has set itself quality, security, health and safety targets. Execution and adjustment is monitored by the Directors, and the management team to ensure its relevance to the activities of DNW.
