It is our pleasure to announce that as per 01 May 2021 Joost Hakkaart has been appointed director of DNW – the German-Dutch Wind Tunnels foundation, a collaboration between the Royal Netherlands Aerospace Center (Royal NLR) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Together with Andreas Bergmann, DLR director of DNW, they form the management of DNW.
Joost started his career in 1990 as an intern at DNW and worked until 2004 as project and then group leader at DNW. Until 2012 he was principal R&D manager helicopter technology at Royal NLR. For the past nine years, he has headed the Vertical Flight and Aeroacoustics department. “It is a great challenge to lead this highly dedicated team and high technological wind tunnels together with Andreas.”
