We're excited to share the VentoFoil XL project, co-funded by the European Union. This innovative wind propulsion technology, featuring a vertical wing with boundary layer suction, is designed to convert wind power directly into thrust, helping reduce fossil fuel dependence and environmental impact.
VentoFoil XL is a larger counterpart to the smaller WASP systems already successfully deployed on smaller vessels, bringing the benefits of wind propulsion to larger sea-going ships.
This project is a collaboration of leading maritime and aerodynamics experts from the Northern Netherlands Maritime Innovation Ecosystem. Together, we're paving the way for a greener future in shipping!
